VALERIA — 145' Feadship Superyacht for Sale

VALERIA has one of the more unusual provenance stories on the market. She was designed by Arthur de Fever and built by Feadship (De Vries Yachts) in 1975 as the 130-foot steel motor yacht LAC II for an American client, and she was recorded at the time as the first private yacht built with an on-board helicopter facility. In 2005, the current owner, an engineer by background, bought the boat, intending a total refit. The project evolved into something considerably more ambitious: a ground-up rebuild inside the original Feadship hull lines, carried out under the control of De Voogt Naval Architects with approval from both Feadship and Bureau Veritas. On completion, she was appointed to the Feadship Heritage Fleet.

The scope of the rebuild is the reason this listing sits in a category of its own. The hull was extended at the transom from 38 meters to 44.2 meters (145 feet), the flybridge and sun deck were reconstructed from scratch, and she was re-faired and fully repainted from bare metal with all teak decking replaced. All main machinery and technical systems were renewed: new main engines, new generators, full rewiring to current electrical protocols, a new underwater exhaust system, new air-conditioning, and new zero-speed stabilizers. The interior was entirely redesigned by Design Unlimited UK, Laurent Giles and De Voogt collaborated to keep the new exterior lines harmonious with the 1975 silhouette, and navigation, communication, entertainment, and electronics were integrated to current standards. She is MCA compliant.

The result is a 44.2-meter Feadship of Heritage Fleet standing with a modern drivetrain, modern systems, and a current interior in a steel displacement hull with a proper 10-foot (2.9m) draft and 360 gross tons of volume. Accommodations handle 12 guests across six cabins with nine crew. Top speed is 14 knots, which is appropriate for a displacement hull of her size and the right configuration for the transatlantic and extended cruising programs these boats are designed to run. For a buyer comparing Feadships, it is worth noting that the similar-length 2015 and 2016 Feadships on the same brokerage list are priced at roughly three to nine times this asking price, and none of them carry the Heritage Fleet designation.

VALERIA is currently located in Netherlands in Urk, Flevoland.
