CONSTANCE — 152' Feadship Superyacht for Sale
CONSTANCE is a 1986 Feadship that was taken through an 18-month rebuild at Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth, completed in 2016, which is the single most important event in her modern history. Pendennis is one of the few yards in the world trusted with serious Feadship refit work, and the scope they executed was less a refresh and more a reconfiguration to current-generation standards. New Caterpillar C32 ACERT main engines, new gearboxes, new generators, new stabilizers, and complete replacement of the engine room and bridge systems. The boat deck was reinforced to handle modern tender crane loads, a collision bulkhead was added forward of an all-new crew lounge to meet the MCA Large Yacht Code for unrestricted cruising, and a full repaint and teak replacement finished the exterior. A second refit in 2021 extended that work with exterior repaint, corrosion treatment, underwater hull blasting and antifouling, and structural repairs to both the steel hull and aluminum superstructure.
The interior, styled originally by Glade Johnson Design and preserved through both refits, is the kind of work that reads better thirty years later than a lot of what's being specified today. The 2016 refurbishment updated guest and crew areas to modern standards while protecting the original woodwork, which is the approach serious owners take with classic Feadships rather than stripping them. At 46.4 meters (152 feet) length overall, 28-foot (8.6m) beam, 10-foot (3.1m) draft, and 418 gross tons, she carries the interior volume of a purpose-built large yacht with accommodations for twelve guests across five cabins and ten crew. Exterior lines are by De Voogt Naval Architects, who still hold the Feadship design pen today.
Under power, the Cat C32s are specified at 900 horsepower each, which is deliberately modest for a yacht of her tonnage and tells you what she was engineered for: a 12-knot cruise, 14-knot top speed, and a 3,800-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Those numbers describe a proper long-range displacement platform, not a boat trying to chase speed it was never designed for. She is classed to Lloyd's Register and fully MCA compliant, which means she is ready to run as a commercial charter vessel or as a serious owner-program boat without additional classification work.
CONSTANCE is currently located in Antigua And Barbuda in English Harbour, Antigua.
