Yachts For Sale

Types of Luxury Yachts for Sale

The luxury yacht market spans a wide range of vessel types, sizes, and price points. Whether you’re looking for a fast Italian-built motor yacht from builders like Mangusta or Riva, a proven Dutch pedigree from Feadship or Amels, or an expedition-ready explorer built for global cruising, our team can guide you to the right vessel. We also represent select new construction projects for buyers seeking a fully custom build.

How Buying a Yacht Works

01

Search & Shortlist

We start with how you plan to use the yacht, where you want to cruise, and a budget that accounts for both purchase and operating costs. From there we build a shortlist matched to your size, layout, and builder preferences.

02

Vessel Inspections

You see the top candidates in person at their current berth. We walk each yacht with you, review the equipment inventory and refit history, and flag anything that warrants a closer look at survey.

03

Negotiate & Offer

Our brokers handle the offer, counteroffers, contingencies, and contract terms. We protect your position on price, inventory, and survey allowance while keeping the deal moving with the seller.

04

Sea Trial & Survey

Once under contract with the deposit in escrow, we coordinate a full marine survey and sea trial under power. Independent surveyors document hull, machinery, and systems, and findings feed into acceptance or final negotiations.

05

Close & Deliver

We manage closing paperwork, escrow release, flag and registration, crew transition, and delivery. By the time you step aboard as owner, the documentation is clean and the yacht is ready to run.

Why Moran Yacht & Ship

Moran Yacht & Ship has been buying and selling superyachts for private clients since 1988. With offices in Fort Lauderdale, Monaco, and Newport, our brokers are active in every major superyacht market — from the Caribbean and Mediterranean to the Pacific.

Unlike single-service brokerages, we offer a complete ownership ecosystem. Our in-house management division handles crew, maintenance, and operations. Our construction team oversees new builds at leading yards worldwide. And our charter department can generate revenue on your behalf when your yacht isn’t in personal use.

The result is fewer handoffs, fewer surprises, and a single team that knows your yacht and your priorities from search through ownership.

Frequently Asked Questions

Superyacht prices vary significantly by size, age, builder, and specification. Entry-level superyachts of 25-35m typically start around $1-3 million for older builds and $5-15 million for newer construction. Mid-range superyachts of 40-55m range from $10-40 million. Flagship mega yachts of 60m and above can exceed $100 million. Our brokers provide no-obligation valuations and can advise on current market pricing for any size range.

In the industry, “superyacht” typically refers to professionally crewed yachts of 24 metres (79ft) and above. “Mega yacht” is used for vessels of 60 metres (200ft) and above. Both categories fall within Moran’s core sales expertise. Our listings span from 25m luxury motor yachts to flagship mega yachts exceeding 90m.

A yacht broker acts as your guide and advocate throughout the purchase process. We begin by understanding your requirements — size, budget, cruising plans, and desired features — then present a curated shortlist of suitable yachts. From there, we arrange viewings, coordinate marine surveys, negotiate the purchase price, and manage the transaction through closing. The seller typically pays the brokerage commission, so there is no additional cost to the buyer. Contact our team to start the conversation.

Most yacht sales include the vessel, its tenders, water toys, and onboard equipment as listed in the inventory. Personal items and consumables are typically excluded. The purchase agreement will specify exactly what conveys with the yacht, and our brokers ensure every detail is documented before closing.

Chartering before buying is one of the best ways to understand what you want in a yacht. It allows you to experience different sizes, layouts, and builders firsthand without a long-term commitment. Many of our clients charter two or three yachts before making a purchase decision. Our charter department can arrange trial voyages tailored to your interests.

A common rule of thumb is that annual operating costs run approximately 10% of the yacht’s purchase price. This covers crew salaries, insurance, maintenance, dockage, fuel, and administrative expenses. Our management team helps owners budget accurately and control costs year over year.

Yes. Many yacht owners list their vessel for both sale and charter simultaneously. Charter income can offset carrying costs while the yacht is on the market, and charter guests occasionally become buyers. As a full-service brokerage, Moran Yacht & Ship manages both sales and charter under one roof, ensuring seamless coordination between the two.
