Top 10 superyachts completed in 2010

2010 ended on a high note with the delivery of the world’s largest private yacht, the 162.5m Eclipse, earlier this month. Built by Blohm + Voss, her delivery had been keenly anticipated for some time after numerous delays since launch, and the result is impressive with one of the most well balanced yachts now on the oceans.

Blohm + Voss also delivered the 96m Palladium, and it has definitely been Germany’s year with no less than seven of the ten largest yachts delivered this year coming from German yards.

Eclipse 162.5m | Blohm + Voss

Eclipse was delivered by Blohm + Voss in December 2010. At 162.5m she is the largest yacht ever built.

Katara 124.4m | Lürssen
Katara was previously known under the project name Crystal. She was launched by Lürssen in April and then delivered to her new owner in in August, when she entered our list of the Top 100 largest yachts in 9th place.
Luna 115m | Lloyd Werft
This ice classed yacht was launched by Lloyd Werft in 2009 and delivered in April this year. Similar in appearance to Roman Abramovich’s former explorer yacht Le Grand Bleu it is rumoured that Luna is her upgraded replacement.
Palladium 96m | Blohm + Voss
Palladium was launched under the project name Orca in March by Blohm + Voss. She was delivered by the German yard in September and is currently 29th in our list of the world’s largest yachts.
Phoenix 2 | 87.2m | Lürssen
Phoenix 2 was launched by Lürssen under the project name J-24 in April, and subsequently delivered in July.
Cakewalk 85.6m | Derecktor
Cakewalk was launched by Derecktor in August and delivered just two months later at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October. At 85.6m she is the largest yacht ever to have been built by an American yard.
Seven Seas | 85.47m | Oceanco
Seven Seas was launched by Oceanco in August, when she was known by her hull number Y706, and delivered in November.
Sunrays 85.47m | Oceanco
Previously known by her hull number Y705, Sunrays was launched in November 2009 and delivered in May 2010 .
Pacific 85.2m | Lürssen
Pacific is one of the most distinctive yachts to hit the water in 2010. She was previously known under the project name Josi and was launched by Lürssen in July and delivered in November.
Titan 78.43m | Abeking & Rasmussen
Titan was launched in May by Abeking & Rasmussen and delivered in October. She is a sister ship of Eminence and C2.
