Construction

In 1995 and 1996, KINGFISHER (then named CAKEWALK) underwent a stem to stern rebuild at Derecktor Shipyard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida under the supervision of Patton Marine. This rebuild basically covered 100% of the yacht, inside and out. In May 2000, this motor yacht underwent yet another $500,000 total interior refit. This steel hulled and aluminum superstructure vessel has always been exceptionally well maintained.

In 2003 KINGFISHER (then named SILVER CLOUD) underwent another extensive refit that included new interior, new generators, zero-speed, at anchor stabilizers, new wheelhouse electronics, put into class with complete MCA and Bureau Veritas certification and numerous other updates. Exterior painting is on-going at each yard period.

In 2006, KINGFISHER's new Caterpillar engines were installed and the generators were removed, rebuilt and replaced. New A/C plant installed. Completed a full paint job and interior and electronic upgrade.

In 2010, KINGFISHER had the hull, bottom, Bridge Deck and superstructure repainted. KINGFISHER is always maintained in superb condition.

Vessel Walkthrough

Amidship on starboard side is a stunning two level marble entrance hall going aft to salon, forward to master and up the grand stairway to the sky lounge and wheelhouse. The sky lounge has been elegantly decorated with large chairs and a very comfortable L-shaped settee. This area is stunning with the satin finished, hand rubbed, cherry woodwork and large panoramic windows. This sky lounge easily converts to a theater viewing area when the blinds are closed and the 60" plasma TV, with surround sound, is lowered from its concealed area in the overhead. There is no better place to view your favorite movie or sporting event! Aft, through the double doors, is the outside lounge area with retractable awning. Further aft is the tender storage area that can be completely cleared with removable chalks and turned into an area that can entertain a very large party. Forward of the sky lounge is the radio room, pilothouse and captain's cabin.

From the placement of equipment, the quality of materials used and the excellent access to all important areas of the machinery spaces, a Feadship engine room has no rivals. Beyond the normal high quality machinery spaces, KINGFISHER's engine room has been maintained to the highest standards possible and shows the high level of pride taken by the chief engineer, captain, and owner.
