08/06/2011 - Superyacht: The 60 metre Kaiser
When a yacht is named Kaiser, one might easily assume a vessel to be regal, refined and maybe somewhat untouchable. Undoubtedly sparking one’s imagination as to what this yacht’s final result is like, equally interesting is the process preceding the launch of a newly built yacht. Finding a basic idea, developing a concept interesting and substantial enough to nurture into a complete yacht, and finally setting out to design a superyacht which is flawless in her smallest details and perfectly balanced in every way.

04/05/2011 - Superyacht Security
Piracy is on the increase, with more than 200 incidents last year. Owners must ensure their yachts are protected in high-risk areas. With the media seeming to delight in stories of violence and piracy on the high seas, security issues are at the forefront of the minds of many superyacht owners. The Gulf of Aden, Red Sea and even the Seychelles are known as high-risk areas, but with the attack on the 55 metre Tiara off Porto-Vecchio, Corsica, piracy is no longer just the concern of those choosing more remote cruising grounds.

02/05/2011 - Solemates
In today's world of waterborne opulence, lurssen's 60 metre solemates masterfully exudes elegance, simplicity and power. Everything about Solemates is new, even though she is actually sixth in a line of Liirssen 60s, but much of the 'newness' can be attributed to Liirssen's policy - in thoroughly sound Germanic fashion - to benefit from development and pass the results on to the customer. The crew is also new and, with sound experience in their own trades, came together at very short notice to make everything work successfully.

03/04/2009 - High Style on the Water
When she first saw it at its berth in Nice, its interior was swathed in purple. Purple draperies. Purple sofas. Purple walls. Even purple paper covering the dining table. Purple, purple, everywhere—deep purple, light purple and all the purply shades in between. “Room after room after room was purple,” says New York designer Joanne de Guardiola. “I’ve never seen so many imaginative uses of purple.” So much purple would have been odd anywhere, but on a yacht, sleek and gleaming white on the outside, it was downright peculiar.

09/30/2008 - MIRGAB V - Burger Goes BIG!
So personal, like choosing the soubriquet for a beloved pet, is naming a yacht. Whether intentionally or no, the result artfully tells something about the owner, something cherished, perhaps; some hidden dream, or personality quirk, even something outlandish, for some. And so it was with Mirgab, Burger’s new 144’ magic charm.
